Cynthia Bonta

Board Member- Central Valley Empowerment Alliance

Cynthia Bonta is a first generation immigrant from the Philippines. Cynthia also lived through WWII. Now experiencing a global health crises in the current coronavirus pandemic and an international uprising against systemic racial inequity. During the 60's and 70's the civil rights movement changed the trajectory of my life forever. Cynthia will regularly say “I’m Proud to give two decades of my life to the farm worker movement that led to the United Farm Workers of America and the anti-martial law movement that overthrew the Marcos Dictatorship in the Philippines.”  Continuing to develop youth leadership that empowers the community for social justice, she is grateful for this opportunity to empower the forgotten in my home state's Central Valley.
